Owners Chanelle and Helen Dickie took over in November 2019, with the vision to not only maximise Selwyn Equestrian to its full potential but also embrace its use in all equestrian disciplines.

Chanelle has not only gained a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology and Psychology, she has also participated and competed in both English and Western equine disciplines in New Zealand, America and Canada. Chanelle brings a range of experience and skills to the Selwyn Equestrian Centre. In 2016, she won a Horse of the Year Title. In 2020, qualified for the National Rodeo Finals in her first open season.  Her passion for development and progression has helped her achieve and gain respect with the equine industry. This passion she now wishes to share at the Selwyn Equestrian Centre.

Chanelle and Helen’s other passion is within the horse racing industry. Chanelle has been involved and worked at Bromac Lodge, a large Standardbred breeding operation in Canterbury, and from there learnt most of her skills in running a large equestrian operation.

Both Chanelle and Helen look forward to working with you on your own future passions, and to provide you with a safe, friendly and supportive facility as well as this Western Shop. They look forward to hearing from you.
